OSCAA 2023: EXCELLENT OBLATES DAY CELEBRATION AND A LITURGICAL MASS

Today, February 13, 2023, marks the beginning of a 4-day activity of the Oblates Schools Cultural and Athletic Association (OSCAA) Meet 2023 at Notre Dame of Greater Manila, Caloocan City.

To make the OSCAA Meet 2023 blessed and blissful, the five participating oblate schools of Notre Dame held a liturgical mass celebration at the Notre Dame Greater Manila Gymnasium at 7:30 in the morning.

The mass is a celebration of the OSCAA Meet and the Oblates Day presided by Father Rev. Fr. Gerry Delos Reyes, OMI, focusing on the appreciation of the gifts given by our Almighty God. "Appreciate the gift, accept what we have, focus lang sa ating kakahayan at gamitin sa mabuting paraan. Real athletes don't give up easily. They learn how to rise again and continue to fight.

With an emphasis on translating words into actions, the priest reiterated that life is a two-sided coin. "There are times when we end victorious and defeated; life is not just a story of winning but also a lesson to accept defeat and use this to expand our horizons, foster good relationships among others, and serve the poor with love and compassion."

Also present during the event were District Superior Rev. Fr. Danilo Sergio, OMI, NDGM School Director, Fr. Howard P. Tatel, OMI, NDMC President and OSCAA President Fr. Jonathan Domingo, NDJC President OMI, Fr. Eduardo M. Santoyo, OMI, Ph.D., NDU President Rev. Fr. Francis Efren C. Zabala, ND Kulaman President Rev. Fr. Elmer M. Gumban, OMI, and other oblates who joined to celebrate the activity.
