Dear alumni and friends of Notre Dame: The news over the radios and on television is mainly focused on the on-going fight between the two forces;however, they fail to show the sad plight of the internal displaced people (IDPs) in the different evacuation centers in PALMA. To date there are 17 evacuation centers (excluding those that sought shelter with their relatives) all over the PALMA alliance with more than 100,000 IDPs.The IDPs are already running short of food because of their big number and the contributions/donations that we ask from our students and the community are just because most of the people here are affected for fighting. We are therefore, appealing to you to help us support the IDPs through your donations especially canned goods, noodles, rice or any amount you can spare to supplement what ever they have for the moment.
