| PRISAA XII DELEGATION DEPARTS FOR NAGA CITY |

(The NDMC re-enforced Basketball Regional XII Champion - coached by Mr Bong Bautista and assisted by Mr Ryan Guttierez will compete in PRISAA National Games in Naga City on April 19-25, 2009. The team will also play friendship games with Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagle’s Basketball team, the defending UAAP Champion on April 26, 2009 at ADMU campus, Quezon City) PRISAA XII is sending 220 players, coaches and officials to Naga City for the PRISAA NATIONAL GAMES scheduled on April 19-25, 2009. The contingent began its 3-day journey last April 15 by taking the Bus to Cagayan De Oro City where they will take the Negros Navigation Boat for Manila. The delegation is expected to arrive Naga City a day earlier of the Opening Rites set on April 19. The delegation which is headed by Dr Carmen Dormtorio, CHED XII Regional Director and Fr Romeo Saniel, OMI , PRISAA XII President will see action in the following team sports events: men’s basketball bannered by Notre Dame Midsayap College, NDMC Basketball Varsity , Soccer led by Southern Baptist College Varsity, Mlang while the Holy Trinity College HTC, General Santos City re-informed teams in Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Sepak Takraw will also see action. Fr Romeo Saniel, OMI is hopeful that the delegation will improve its performance this time in the National ranking from 9th place last 2007 in Ilo-Ilo City and 7th place last 2008 in Zamboanga City. President Gloria Arroyo will give her message during the Opening Ceremony on April 20. Games will be played from April 20-25, 2009. Aside from sports competition, Mr. Archie Gonzales of St. Benedict College, Cotabato City will compete in Vocal Solo, Miss Fecel Mae Salandanan of Notre Dame of Kidapawan College will compete in the Mutya ng Prisaa. The brother-sister tandem from Notre Dame of Marbel University, Manuel and Marinella Allovera who got the bronze medal last year will aim the gold medal this year in Latin Dancesports. In addition, Ian Jame Benido and Ely Jane Ubaldo from Notre Dame of Tacurong College will also try to get the gold in the Standard Dancesport category. It was also confirmed by Fr Saniel that Mr Ricky Palu, Ateneo De Manila University athletic director agreed to hold friendship games on April 26, 8:00 AM - Lunch at ADMU Campus. Team events to be played are: Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Softball, Soccer and Swimming. |
