Celebrating God’s Greatness through the Eucharistic Mass Celebration

As part of the institution’s culture and tradition, the NDMC held its annual celebration of Ash Wednesday yesterday, February 22, 2023.

Ash Wednesday is the first day of the forty-six-day lent in preparation for Easter Sunday on April 9, 2023.

Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days.

With this celebration, three things are at hand that should not slip off one's mind: prayer, fasting (abstaining from something to reduce distractions and anchor one's attention more on God), and giving or charity.
