NDMC Attends Blockchain Development Workshop for Instructors Program
Representatives from Notre Dame of Midsayap College attended the Blockchain Development Workshop for Instructors Program held at Notre Dame of Marbel University on September 12–13, 2025. The two-day seminar-workshop gathered educators, technologists, and innovators to explore the transformative role of blockchain technology in advancing education.
Day 1, themed “Foundations of Blockchain in the Academe,” featured sessions on the Academe’s Role in the Ethereum Ecosystem with Mr. Shyam Sridhar, the BuidlGuidl Workshop with Mr. Shiv Bhonde, and OpenxAI with Mr. John Forfar, highlighting the integration of blockchain and artificial intelligence. Other sessions—Plans and Programs by Mr. Ruben Lacumba Jr., Builder of EVM Project, and EVM Fundamentals—provided participants with essential insights into blockchain innovation.
Day 2 focused on hands-on applications through sessions such as the OpenxAI Workshop (Mr. John Forfar), Lido CSM (Mr. Samuel Chong), and Solidity Basics (Ms. Christine Erispe), where participants learned to write and deploy smart contracts. The presentation of Certifica by Mr. Juriz Leowe Tolosa, a blockchain-based credentialing platform, showcased how blockchain can enhance transparency and security in academic records. The event also honored former PSITE officers for their contributions to technology-driven education.
The workshop aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
