NDMC Celebrates St . Eugene’s 237th Birthday

From Aix-en Provence in France to the world – the charism of St. Eugene de Mazenod has continually inspired the youth to enliven his selfless faith and devotion in many forms and instances. The founder of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate congregation turns 237 years old today. He may not have set his foot to the First Notre Dame School in Asia – Notre Dame of Midsayap College, but his passion drove the 7 Pioneer Oblate fathers to realize the establishment of this academic institution as a beacon of hope, love and compassion.

To celebrate the founder’s birthday a mass was held at the Bulwagang Genoveva Deles-Jaranilla. This was presided by Fr. Wilfredo Cabrera, OMI and co-presiders Fr. Rockmoore Saniel, OMI, Fr. Ian Dignos, OMI, Fr. Elmer Boston, OMI, Fr. Raul Biasbas, OMI, Fr. Dennis Ornopia, OMI and Fr. Jonathan R. Domingo, OMI – NDMC President.

The mass highlighted on theme “The Youth, The Beloved of St. Eugene” which magnifies the role of the Oblates towards facilitating youth transformation and social engagements.
A Fellowship lunch followed at the Primera Function Hall. The afternoon was a talk of Fr. Jonathan R. Domingo, OMI on the life, challenges and charism of St. Eugene de Mazenod. The talk hopes to imbibe compassion and camaraderie within and beyond the bounds of the NDMC community.

Coincidentally, the College and Senior High School students celebrated their whole day acquaintance party which culminated with a Coachella-inspired soiree at the Soccer field.
