The Notre Dame of Midsayap College College of Nursing, through its Community Extension Services (CES), conducted a monitoring and evaluation visit in Purok 8, Barangay Macabasa, Alamada, North Cotabato as part of the ongoing implementation of the Adopt-a-Comfort Room Project, an initiative aligned with sanitation improvement and the Zero Open Defecation Program.

The activity focused on assessing the condition, utilization, cleanliness, and accessibility of the constructed comfort room, particularly for children and community residents. The CES team, together with CES staff, conducted onsite evaluation and gathered feedback from daycare personnel and community members to determine the project’s impact on hygiene practices and daily living conditions.

The visit was carried out in coordination with local officials, including Barangay Captain Calapate and Barangay Kagawad Alib, whose support strengthened the partnership between the academic institution and the community. Their involvement highlighted the importance of shared responsibility in sustaining health-related community projects.

Findings from the monitoring activity provided valuable insights into the effectiveness and sustainability of the project, emphasizing the need for continuous evaluation, proper maintenance, and active community participation to ensure long-term impact.
