NDMC Conducts Group Guidance for Freshmen Students

To help first-year college students adapt to their new academic and social environment, the Guidance and Testing Center of Notre Dame of Midsayap College conducted a Group Guidance Session themed “College Transitions: Thriving Through Change – Adapting to New Routines, Independence, and Personal Growth” on August 11, 12, and 19, 2025, at the Primera Hall.

The session aimed to orient freshmen on the guidance programs and services available to support their transition to college life. It also encouraged students to identify their special population groups, promoting a sense of belonging and community. Through interactive discussions, students reflected on how to embrace change, manage independence, and foster personal growth.

Guidance Director Ma’am Maria Fe S. Mahinay, RGC, RPm, emphasized the importance of resilience and adaptation in thriving through college transitions. The event concluded with words of encouragement from the College Guidance Counselor, assuring students that the Guidance Office remains a safe space for support, guidance, and self-discovery.

This initiative underscores NDMC’s commitment to promoting mental well-being, inclusive education, and holistic student development—helping young Damians thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
