NDMC Researchers Participate in DOST Region XII Call Conference to Strengthen Research and Innovation

Koronadal City, South Cotabato – Representatives from Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC) joined the DOST Call Conference conducted by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region XII from February 23–25, 2026, at the Habi Hotel, Koronadal City. The three-day conference gathered members of the PCIERRD Consortia and Technical Working Group to strengthen research capabilities and enhance the quality of research proposals for the 2026 funding cycle.

The conference aimed to equip researchers, faculty members, and academic institutions with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to develop competitive research proposals aligned with the priority programs of the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD).

The program officially opened with an inspiring message from Engr. Gesille Eve G. Siladan, Regional Director of DOST Region XII, who emphasized the vital role of research and innovation in addressing local and national development challenges through science and technology.

Participants attended a series of technical sessions facilitated by distinguished DOST experts. Mr. Ruel A. Pili, MBA discussed the priority research areas and funding opportunities under DOST-PCIEERD for 2026, while Ms. Glenda Dorcas T. Sacbibit provided comprehensive training on proposal development, focusing on writing competitive research proposals that meet DOST evaluation standards. She also facilitated a hands-on workshop on the preparation of the Line-Item Budget (LIB), enabling participants to design realistic, compliant, and well-structured project budgets.

The conference concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Sittie Aleah, DOST Region XII Representative, who encouraged researchers to continue refining their proposals and assured participants of the regional office's support throughout the proposal development process.

NDMC's participation in the conference reflects the institution's continuing commitment to advancing research excellence, strengthening faculty competencies, and fostering innovative solutions that contribute to regional and national development. The knowledge and skills gained from the conference will further enhance the College's research initiatives and increase its capacity to secure competitive research grants that create meaningful community impact.
