Midsayap, Cotabato – The Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC) Weekend Session successfully conducted the 2nd Weekend Food Exhibit on March 7, 2026, as the culminating activity for its Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) subjects. Held at the Home Economics and Livelihood Education (HELE) Room and the Junior High School Student Lounge, the event provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their culinary knowledge, technical skills, creativity, and teamwork through practical food preparation and presentation.

The activity began with the morning cooking sessions, where students prepared dishes according to their respective grade levels. Grade 7 showcased fruit slices and dessert charcuterie, Grade 8 presented healthy drinks and traditional Filipino kakanin, Grade 9 prepared clubhouse sandwiches, bread rolls, and healthy beverages, while Grade 10 demonstrated their culinary competence by preparing complete meals consisting of starch, meat, and vegetable dishes.

In the afternoon, the formal food exhibit and judging program commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the introduction of judges and participants. Ms. Flora O. Bornea, Weekend Coordinator, delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the value of hands-on learning in developing students' creativity, confidence, responsibility, and practical life skills. Students proudly presented their culinary creations, explained the ingredients and preparation methods, and welcomed the judges with lively presentations and class cheers.

The panel of judges evaluated each exhibit based on taste, presentation, creativity, and overall quality. Following the judging, participants and guests enjoyed a fellowship meal featuring the students' prepared dishes before concluding the activity with restoration and clean-up, reinforcing the importance of sanitation, responsibility, and teamwork. An awarding ceremony recognized the outstanding performances of the participating groups, while Mrs. Elena B. Callora delivered the closing remarks, commending the students, teachers, organizers, and judges for making the event a success.

The 2nd Weekend Food Exhibit 2026 served as a meaningful experiential learning activity that allowed students to apply classroom concepts in a real-world setting while strengthening their culinary competencies, collaboration, and appreciation for food preparation and hospitality. Through activities like this, Notre Dame of Midsayap College continues to provide quality, skills-based education that prepares learners for lifelong learning, entrepreneurship, and future career opportunities.
