On September 19, 2025, the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of Notre Dame of Midsayap College successfully conducted its Leadership Seminar and Workshop themed “Bantayog ng Pamumuno: Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders for a Brighter Future.” The whole-day event gathered students and aspiring leaders for a meaningful experience centered on service, integrity, and responsible leadership.

The program began at 8:00 a.m. with registration, invocation, and opening remarks from Ms. Wellme Eco-Parreño, RCRIM, CCS, who emphasized that true leadership is anchored in service and character.

The first session featured guest speaker Mr. Sajed Mamalampay, LPT, who delivered an engaging talk on “What Makes a Good Leader?” He highlighted that leadership goes beyond authority—it is rooted in influence, empathy, and accountability. He further discussed “Respect and Responsibility in Leadership,” underscoring the balance between authority and humility.

In the afternoon session, Mr. Philip Richard S. Rusiana II spoke on “How to Communicate Like a Leader,” emphasizing the importance of clear and purposeful communication in building trust and unity within a team. Participants then applied their learning through interactive workshops and team-building activities that tested their collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

The event fostered not only knowledge but also camaraderie. Through group games and team challenges, students discovered that leadership thrives in both responsibility and shared experiences. The seminar concluded with the awarding of certificates and closing remarks from Ms. Alyssa Jemina, leaving participants inspired to embody servant-leadership in their academic and personal journeys.

The seminar reinforced that effective leadership is grounded in empathy, accountability, communication, and teamwork. Participants realized that leadership is not confined to formal roles but is reflected in daily actions, collaboration, and the ability to inspire others. The experience strengthened bonds among students while cultivating confidence, discipline, and unity.

Participants are encouraged to practice empathy, accountability, and effective communication in their daily engagements. CCJE may continue organizing leadership seminars, team-building activities, and mentorship programs to further develop students’ leadership competencies. Integrating community extension initiatives and real-world case studies in future programs can deepen practical application and reinforce servant-leadership beyond the classroom.
