The Integrated Basic Education claimed stage dominance in an almost two-hour concert entitled “Shindig: IBED Way to Infin80 and Beyond” last October 29. The '60s and '70s era encapsulated the song and dance performances of the IBED bringing back memories when the first man landed on the moon and the first Filipina to win the Miss Universe crown. Snippets from the musicals directed by “Maam J” such as Jesus Christ Superstar and King and I, were brought back to the musical track by the league of talented divas. The performances were even made more electrifying with the grooves of dancing royalties. Teachers’ Day celebration in NDMC is indeed happy. Smiles and shrieks over burger and spaghetti sums up what could make a teacher most happy. In the afternoon of October 5, as the world celebrated World Teachers’ Day, personnel trooped and bee lined for a burger and spaghetti merienda at the student lounge. Fr. Jonathan R. Domingo, OMI treated everyone a “pa-burger and pa-spag”, recognizing the colossal contribution of the teachers in the delivery of quality and relevant education in this most challenging times. It was a moment of great joy sitting with a co-worker enjoying the food and just let the time pass by with amusing stories and reminiscence. 982 students from incoming sophomore, some third, fourth and fifth year students receive the much awaited educational subsidy. The four-day subsidy distribution started on September 22 and ended on September 25 at the facilities of NDMC.  Parents and students are beaming with relief and gratefulness as they processed the necessary documents at the ETD court assisted by the deans and program heads. The Bulwagang Genoveva Deles-Jaranilla served as the releasing venue manned by the Business Office personnel. Nothing comes close to the excitement of starting your class seeing the faces and reactions of your students. This may have been halted for some time because of Covid pandemic restrictions, but NDMC personnel is hopeful it will not be long for the old normal to finally come back.
